I use these filters in a 10x20 filter box in the intake duct for my HRV. There are two screens outside at the hood, coarse and medium, and I've fashioned a bag filter in the intake of the box, which is about 5 ft. from the hood. The upwind side of the filter is filthy, with bugs, Iowa topsoil, pollen, vegitative chaff, etc. Downwind there is no dust at all, and the HRV itself is of course absolutely pristeen. I check the filters every two months, washing and/or changing them out PRN. Usually they're pretty gross, especially the bag filter. These are good filters. They catch everthing that gets by the upstream parts, and don't restrict the airflow enough to unbalance the system. I got a good deal on 12 of them, so I will have to add a codocil to my Last Will and Testament to leave them to someone.
