Top of the line air filters reduce your airflow by 30% or more. These air filters allow more air to flow, allowing your fan to work less while still doing an excellent job of filtering out particles. Ask your HVAC specialist next time they service your unit. They will tell you that this filter will keep you warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer while still doing what it is made to do. Use this filter and put a paper towel over your air duct. You will be amazed at the difference. Plus, it does not cost more than a top-of-the-line filter from Walmart.
