What a great product. Was searching for fridge filter for parents when came across this company and their filters. Bought one filter and water tasted exactly like OEM filter. ClearChoice CLCH110 Filter Instructions on this web page say: -Apply the month sticker (included) to the cartridge as a reminder to replace the filter with 6 months and remove red cap. -Align unlabeled side of filter with the indicator line so that it can be inserted into the filter head. There were no instructions included with the filter, no "month sticker" included in the package, no red cap, and there was no "indicator line" that I could find on the filter. Apparently these instructions were copied from another filter. The filter is not only boxed but also shrink wrapped, so no red cap is needed to keep the connection clean. I wrote the date of installation and made alignment markings, based upon the filter I removed, with a black magic marker before installation; Unnecessary, but may help the next person if I'm not around. Never saw any darkness of water as from carbon dust but ran a gallon or two of water through the system before using it anyway as is commonly recommended. W

How to install

How To Install The 5231JA2002A Filter:

Remove old filter cartridge by grasping and turning to the left about 1/4 turn
Apply the month sticker (included) to the cartridge as a reminder to replace the filter with 6 months and remove red cap
Align unlabeled side of filter with the indictor line so that it can be inserted into the filter head
Turn the cartridge 1/4 turn to the right to lock it into place - you will feel a stop and the locked symbol should now be lined up with the indicator line
Run water through the dispenser for 3 minutes to purge the system
