This is the correct aluminum/ceramic filter for our AprilAire Model 500 humidifier. Works perfectly and is a good price for a two pack. I rinse a new filter in cold running water before installing it to remove loose ceramic dust.

There are filters on the market that are made out of paper. After buying some in a retail store, I found out the hard way with a leaking whole house humidifier. Very pleased! Since my humidifier is quite old they no longer make the panels for this particular unit - so I measured the old very gross panel and took a stab in the dark and came up with this product. I just received it and put it in and it fit great and it will be so nice to have a clean panel for the winter. Being able to replace these saves me from having to replace the whole humidifier!! I also appreciated that Discount Filters gave me a heads up that delivery might take a bit longer than normal - nice not to have to wonder where my order was.
